How to play

Roulette 1923 is the wheel game for one to four players, using game chips with no cash value: each color starts with one hundred chips, and before each of five spins has twenty seconds to place chips on the layout — on Red or Black, Even or Odd, a dozen, or a single number. The 37-pocket wheel then spins and the table pays out: even-money bets 1:1, a dozen 2:1, a single number 35:1. If zero hits, the house claims all even-money bets. After the fifth spin, whoever holds the most chips wins.

Objective and rules

Objective The biggest pot

Have the most money in front of you after five wheel spins!

Alone, you play against the house: finish the five wheel spins with more chips than you started with.

You start with 100 chips. Red, Black, Even and Odd double your stake, a dozen triples it, and a single number pays it back thirty-six times.

  1. Placing For twenty seconds, every colour places chips on the table. Everyone sees what's down. Anyone with no chips left gets 25 credit before the next spin, and it counts against you at the end.
  2. Chances Red, Black, Even, Odd pay one to one, a dozen pays two to one, a single number pays thirty-five to one.
  3. Wheel The wheel spins, the ball runs down, and settles into one of thirty-seven pockets.
  4. The zero If zero comes up, the house takes every even-money bet and every dozen. Only whoever placed on zero itself wins.

The zero: The wheel has one zero and no double zero. It's green, takes every even-money bet and every dozen, and pays as a straight-up hit like any other number. That's exactly why this table costs something in the long run — and why the house places the minimum stake for anyone who doesn't bet at all.

Controls

Tap or click: first a chip value, then a spot on the table — each tap places one chip. Red, Even and the dozens show which numbers they cover. "Clear all" clears the table, "Bets set" releases the wheel. With a keyboard: Tab and Enter.

In the arena, the objective and rules are always behind the question mark, even during the round — and between rounds, the story is there as well.
