How it plays

Keno 1923 is the number game Keno for one to four, played with chips that carry no cash value: before each of five blocks, every colour marks exactly five numbers out of forty and chooses what to stake per draw — one, two, five, or ten chips. Then five draws roll through one after another, each pulling ten balls from the drum, with every ticket lying open side by side: two hits pay back one-and-a-half times the stake, three pay four times, four pay thirteen times, and five pay three hundred times. Anyone who marks nothing gets a ticket from the house at the smallest stake; anyone who can't cover their stake gets credit. After twenty-five draws, whoever has the most in front of them wins — chips minus credit.

Goal and rules

Goal The fattest stack

Have the most money in front of you after twenty-five draws!

What counts is net worth: chips minus credit. Anyone who can't cover their stake anymore gets 50 credit. Anyone who picks nothing gets five numbers from the house at the smallest stake.

  1. Five numbers Out of forty numbers you pick exactly five, and choose your stake per draw: 1, 2, 5, or 10 chips.
  2. The drum Then five draws roll through one after another. Each pulls ten balls out of forty, and all four tickets lie open beside it.
  3. The odds Two hits pay one-and-a-half times, three pay four times, four pay thirteen times — five pay three hundred times.
  4. Interim tally After each block the tally is shown briefly. After that your ticket stays as is until you change it — five blocks, twenty-five draws.

Rounded down: Odds pay out in whole chips, and the remainder stays with the house. On one chip, two hits therefore pay back one chip; on ten chips, fifteen. What your ticket actually pays is in the odds bar under the grid — calculated for the stake you've currently chosen.

Controls

Tap or click: five numbers in the grid, then a stake below it. "Clear ticket" clears the numbers, "Submit ticket" releases the drum. With a keyboard: Tab and Enter.

In the arena, the goal and the rules are always behind the question mark, even mid-round — and between rounds, so is the story.
