How it plays

Fluchtweg plays like a lightcycle race, only turn-based instead of real time: in turn, every car moves one field, and the field behind it stays walled off. Cutting off another player's path gains you ground; once you have no free neighbouring field left, you crash and you're out. Somewhere between the walls sits a briefcase of cash, and the moment someone drives over it, the next one appears elsewhere — on the podium, whoever's grabbed the most takes the lead. The last car left on the road wins.

The story

Getaway, comic panel 1 of 3
Steer your getaway car turn by turn across the city's crossings.
Getaway, comic panel 2 of 3
An impassable barricade forms behind every car – cut the others off.
Getaway, comic panel 3 of 3
Whoever has no way out crashes. The last rolling car wins.

Goal and rules

Goal Last car

Drive longer than everyone else. Whoever can't move on crashes and is out!

If your time runs out, your car drives itself into a free direction. As soon as someone grabs the cash case, the next one appears somewhere else — and behind the winner, whoever grabbed more comes out ahead.

  1. Driving Tapping or swiping moves the getaway car one square: up, down, left, or right.
  2. Trail The square you leave is blocked: tyre tracks and a barricade. Nobody drives through there again.
  3. Cutting off Your trail cuts off the others' path.
  4. Crash Whoever has no free neighbouring square left crashes into the barrier and is out.

The case: Whoever drives over it collects it. With three or more colours, whoever collected more comes out ahead behind the winner. The next one appears right away, each time on a different square.

Controls

Tap or click: a dashed neighbouring square or the arrow on it. On a phone you can also swipe across the board or use the d-pad below it; at a desk, the arrow keys work too. A pale, hatched square is a dead end: from there, your car couldn't go any further. On the d-pad, the arrow pointing that way has the same hatching, and a bar in front of the arrowhead means the way is blocked.

In the arena, the goal and the rules are always behind the question mark, even mid-round — and between rounds, so is the story.
