Back the shooter or bet against them: 7 or 11 wins on the first roll, after that their number has to come up before a 7.

How it plays

Hinterhof-Craps is the dice game Craps for one to four, played with chips that carry no cash value: one player holds the dice for each series, rotating among the active players, and everyone bets at once, sealed, on Pass, Don't Pass, or a specific number. The come-out roll settles things immediately on a 7 or 11 (Pass wins) or a 2, 3, or 12 (Craps, Pass loses); otherwise the point is set, and only the shooter keeps rolling until it comes up again or a 7 shows. A bet on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 stays on for the whole series: it wins as soon as its number comes up and is gone the moment a 7 shows. After five series, whoever has the most chips in front of them wins.

First roll: 7 or 11 and the Pass Line wins; 2, 3 or 12 and it loses. Any other number becomes the point.

If the shooter hits their point again before the dreaded seven, the Pass Line clears out.

Goal and rules

Goal The fattest stack

Five series long, the shooter rotates. Whoever has the most net worth at the end wins.

During the point phase the dice roll on their own; everyone has already bet and is watching.

  1. Come-out roll The shooter rolls first. 7 or 11 wins Pass instantly; 2, 3, or 12 is craps and loses Pass.
  2. The point If the come-out roll shows 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, the point is set — the shooter keeps rolling until it hits or a 7 comes up.
  3. Pass & Don't Pass Pass wins if the point hits before the 7. Don't Pass wins the other way round — except on a come-out 12, which just returns the stake.
  4. Number & one-roll A bet on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 stays live for the whole series: it wins as soon as its number hits, and dies the moment a 7 comes up. The five numbers in the middle are one-roll bets and settled with the come-out roll.

Controls

Pick a chip below and tap it straight onto the felt — on the Pass Line, Don't Pass, a number, or a one-roll bet. You can cover several spots; a second chip on the same spot adds to it. Then "Place bets".

In the arena, the goal and the rules are always behind the question mark, even mid-round — and between rounds, so is the story.
